Meet Dr. Nick Salava

Dr. Salava grew up in Burlington, KS and received his undergraduate degree in human biology from the University of Kansas in 2006. He then worked in dentistry for several years before graduating with his doctorate of dental medicine from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. While in dental school he also received his graduate certificate in public health, was involved in multiple research projects, and accumulated several service and academic awards. Following dental school, Dr. Salava continued for a year and a half as a Periodontal Resident at the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry, emphasizing his focus on advanced periodontal disease and dental implant therapy. In addition to servicing patients at Heinbach Larkin’s 9th Street location, Dr. Salava will also be offering implant dentistry and sleep dentistry solutions at Rockledge Dentistry.
Dr. Salava practices with a strong foundation in evidence-based dentistry and focuses on making your health and comfort his top priority. Dr. Salava is an active member of several dental organizations, including American Academy for Oral and Systemic Health, Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association, and Douglas County Dental Society.
Dr. Salava is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. Diplomates of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM) have received the highest credential a dentist can earn in dental sleep medicine. To earn this qualification, dentists are required to demonstrate competency in dental sleep medicine and must pass a rigorous written examination. It signifies a professional commitment to education, knowledge, and experience in dental sleep medicine.
Nick, his wife Kelsi, and their two daughters (Kate and Nora) are grateful to call Lawrence home. They enjoy their church, vacationing, hanging out with friends and family, and spending time outdoors together.
